Weeknotes #5
You’ll be pleased to hear my sister’s wedding was a complete success last weekend. 🥂🍾 The ceremony was at Leicester Guildhall and the Bosworth Battefield Tithe Barn, two amazing venues.
Onto work, it’s another short week for me before I go to Portland (Dorset) for B-Side festival with the family.
At the beginning of the week I posted a Free inclusive stock images article. There are so many great images here and definitely something we’ll use at the Digital Culture Network for future content.
Mid-week I caught up with Rosie Crocker (Marketing Assistant) and Jasmine Barker (Head of Marketing and Communications) at Bath Festivals. They are switching to Google Analytics 4 so we imported a Google Tag Manager recipe to bring across Spektrix ecommerce data.
I finished the week off with a catch up with the fantastic Alec Ward, Digital Skills Manager at Culture 24. Alec also releases the Digital Things newsletter which I highly recommend you subscribe to.
Way back in July 2020 we did a takeover of the Arts Council England Instagram account, talking about all things digital. (See if you can spot any indication I was to have emergency surgery that evening and a week recovering in hospital as my appendix tried to kill me).
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
I’m working with an organisation looking to implement a new CRM system to manage data and develop stakeholder relations, facilitate the generation of increased income and improve administrative efficiency. This week we attended demonstrations of some potential systems which fit the bill.
In their words:
Beacon
The modern CRM for charities. Easy to use. Cloud based. Flexible enough for anything.
We’re on a mission to build the best nonprofit database in the world.
At Beacon we believe that charities deserve world-class software that's simple, flexible, and beautiful. Beacon is a new kind of charity CRM, built on the latest technology and design principles, that makes running your organisation a breeze. You're going to love it.
Donorfy
The modern charity CRM you’ll love. Cloud-based. Easy to use. Integrated and powerful, yet flexible. Built for the way you fundraise today and tomorrow, Donorfy is for smart, growing nonprofits large and small.
Built by fundraisers, for fundraisers. We’re not just accomplished techies here at Donorfy, we’re passionate members of the charity community. The team at Donorfy has extensive experience of working at the front line of fundraising so we know the challenges that you face every day. Our mission is to ‘help you do more of what matters’ and we draw on our knowledge and that of our clients to improve our product every day.
GoodCRM
CRM for Arts, Charity & Heritage. Easy to use, affordable data management for people who do good.
GoodCRM are on a mission to help you build capacity in your organisation.
Huge thanks to David Simpson (Beacon), Charlotte Tobin (Donorfy), Tom Cowle and Steph Graham (GoodCRM) for showing us around the different systems.
It was really interesting exploring the many similarities of the platforms (easy to use, cloud based, on a mission!) and lots of differences (integrations, data structure, terminology). It’s all about finding the right fit for your organisation and the way it works.
At the Digital Culture Network, we have a great resource on Discovering the right ticketing & CRM tech for you. The article will guides you through your own organisational requirements, and offers some helpful hints from the technology companies themselves. You’ll also find some handy templates to help you formulate your procurement needs.
