Weeknotes #20

This week I wrap things up for the year, Nicola releases her first content piece and we say goodbye to the SEO king and all round sunbeam that is Hansel.

Which social metrics should you be paying attention to?

Nicola Barratt, our Social Media Tech Champion, has written a long form article all about finding the right social media metrics for your organisation.

โ€œWhile link clicks are a tasty metric that most of us measure and review, we would warn against this being the only reason you are investing time and effort into social media. Lots of us are guilty of using social media as a broadcasting rather than an engagement platform, churning out posts with the sole purpose of drawing the audience to your website. โ€
— Nicola Barratt

Itโ€™s Nicolaโ€™s first content piece for the Digital Culture Network, it has some great suggestions and techniques to find the right metrics on the right platform for you.

Farewell Hansel

Hansel McKoy joined the Digital Culture Network in May 2021 as our Search Engine Marketing Tech Champion. Since then heโ€™s worked with so many creative and cultural organisations, helping them understand the complex and technical language, and how to make the most of things such as Google Ad Grants.

Hansel is whizzing off into the sunset to earn mega bucks at a Search Engine Optimisation agency. His enthusiasm will be sorely missed in the team!

Goodbye 2022!

What a year! Amongst the chaos of the world and our collective recovery from the pandemic, weโ€™re pretty exhausted. Iโ€™ve got high hopes for 2023 ๐Ÿคž.

I know one thing for certain, thereโ€™s going to be a cascade of Google Analytics requests! Luckily for you, thereโ€™s a wonderful ecosystem of support from places such as the Digital Culture Network, One Further, Culture24 and the Arts Marketing Association ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘Œ.

See you next year!
