Weeknotes #24

A combination of the cough that will NEVER LEAVE, itโ€™s knock on affect on my energy levels, and generally being busy, mean Iโ€™ve missed the last two weeknotes. Fear not, I plan to retrospectively add them in so you can continue to track the weird and wonderful adventures of Mr Akers.

This week Iโ€™ve been delivering workshops and got out and about to Leeds and Manchester.

Museum of London

Trish Thomas (Head of Digital Innovation) got in touch last year about delivering a couple of workshops for the Museum of London (MoL) team. First up we explored how Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager can be set up to capture additional and relevant data for the organisation. This was an online session with Kim Van Russelt (Digital Editor), Harriet Warnock-smith (CRM and Digital Marketing Manager), Kate McInnes (Digital Product Manager) and Dan Harrington (Digital Product Manager).

As part of the training we looked at the current configuration for the Cookiebot consent management tool used on the site and linked in Spektrix ecommerce data.

Next week is a further training sessions for the wider team on reporting withing Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio.

Opera North

On Wednesday I got the train east to Leeds for an in-person workshop with Katie Lear (Marketing Officer), Marie Lemaire (Education Digital Manager), Jessica Fitton (Digital Content Producer), Lucy Haslingden (Marketing Assistant), Giulia Panigada (Marketing Assistant), Daoud Al-Janabi (Web and Digital Officer), Julia O'Sullivan (Head of Communications & Digital) and Lizzie Brewster (Head of Marketing).

We went through a general overview of Google Analytics 4 functionality, explored potential metrics in a marketing funnel (I love a good funnel!), and how data can be visually structured for interpretation and reporting.

It was a great session with a really engaged team. Katie had a fantastic lunch suggestion too (chilli paneer wrap๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘Œ).

Peopleโ€™s History Museum

Today I popped to Manchester to see Aine Graven (Head of Development) at the Peopleโ€™s History Museum. Itโ€™s one of my favourite places to go in Manchester, with a brilliant gallery and amazing collection. We had a chat about how their current objectives and pain points, and how the Digital Culture Network can help.

Iโ€™ll be introducing the team to some different Tech Champions to help support the delivery of their new strategy.

Next week we have TWO new Search Engine Marketing Tech Champions joining the team, I canโ€™t wait!
