Weeknotes #25

It’s February already! 😲

Conversations this week

On Monday I delivered the second workshop with Museum of London. This was an online session with Trish Thomas (Head of Digital Innovation), Kim Van Russelt (Digital Editor), Harriet Warnock-smith (CRM and Digital Marketing Manager), Kate McInnes (Digital Product Manager), Dan Harrington (Digital Product Manager), Cliona Kelly (Marketing Manager), Dimitrios Mathioudakis (Marketing Officer) and Jaanuja Sriskantha (Marketing Officer).

We went through the reporting structure and exploration in Google Analytics 4 and an overview of Looker Studio report building. The team are finalising what they need to track and we will follow up with an in-person session to set things up.

I’ve found these workshops really useful to gauge understanding and feed into the webinars and content for later this year.

In the afternoon I spoke to Glenn Boulter at Octopus Collective in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The organisation runs the Full of Noises events series. It was great to learn more about the close ties to other cultural organisations (and new National Portfolio Organisations) all on the same street in Barrow.

On Tuesday I went to Manchester to see Dean Shaw (Content Tech Champion) and Laura Harris (Events Co-ordinator) at The Hive. We shot a short video (out next week) about the upcoming changes to Google Analytics and how we can help. We also shot a couple of photos before the Manchester rain kicked in.

I can’t wait to share the Coffee Break video, it’s fun!

Wednesday I spent scoring Digital Culture Awards submissions for the Data and Digital Ambassador categories - there are some amazing entries!

Thursday was a jam packed day. First I spoke to Jamie Harber (with his Sound UK hat on) about pulling data sources together in Looker Studio. Next Bridie Tyler (Digital Communications Associate) and I battled with reconnecting the Gladior Data Hub to different social profiles. We tried everything and failed miserably. A paid service such as Porter might be the right solution. Later in the afternoon I had a 1-2-1 with Rebecca Reed (Marketing & Digital Engagement Officer) at North Lincolnshire Museum about configuring Conversion in Google Analytics 4. The final call of the day was with James Hibberd (Marketing Manager) at The Point, Eastleigh and The Berry Theatre. We had set up GA4 on the site previously but it was not tracking all pages. We delved into the mysteries of the Content Management System to find out why (and fix it).

Next week is super short as I’m off to Amsterdam on Wednesday! ✈️
